One of them is a historic mine, which stands as a testament to the mining history of Upper Silesia, where the first steam engine in the region was introduced. The underground network of corridors, located approximately 40 meters below ground, is a remaining part of the former “Fryderyk” silver, lead, and zinc ore mine.
The tour allows visitors to experience the authentic atmosphere of traditional mining work. The conditions underground are harsh, with low temperatures and high humidity. The route leads through hand-excavated mining faces, transport corridors, and impressive chambers created between the 18th and 19th centuries.
Sightseeing program:

The tour route in the Historic Silver Mine is a unique journey through the underground world of mining, connecting three former shafts: “Anioł,” “Żmija,” and “Szczęść Boże.” The route is 1,740 meters long, allowing visitors to fully explore the history of this remarkable site.
One of the greatest attractions is the underground boat ride through the galleries of the Black Trout Adit. This 600-meter section is one of the longest underground boat routes of its kind in Europe and forms part of the 19th-century “Fryderyk” Deep Adit. The site is located within the picturesque Repecki Park.
Inside the headframe building, visitors will find a modern educational center dedicated to the ore mining traditions of Tarnowskie Góry. Guests can learn about the methods used to extract silver, lead, and zinc ores, as well as the operation of historic drainage systems. A particularly impressive feature is the installation presenting the operation of the first steam engine in this part of Europe, imported to drain the “Fryderyk” mine.
During the underground tour, visitors will meet the Treasurer Spirit (available only in the Polish-language version) — the benevolent guardian spirit of the mine. This unique performance allows tourists to hear legends and stories connected with the ore mining traditions of Tarnowskie Góry.
The attraction takes place in one of the three rock-carved chambers and is an interesting element of the sightseeing program. The meeting is intended primarily for younger visitors, although tourists of all ages are welcome to participate.

This is a unique tourist attraction that allows visitors to discover the fascinating world of a former mine of silver, lead, and zinc. The route runs through a labyrinth of underground corridors at a depth of approximately 40 meters, connecting the historic shafts “Anioł,” “Żmija,” and “Szczęść Boże.” During the visit, guests can see former excavation sites, massive mining chambers, and learn about the working methods of the Tarnowskie Góry miners.
One of the biggest attractions is a boat crossing along a 270-meter underground section of the route, which allows visitors to experience the exceptional atmosphere of the site.
