In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the green part of the island, specifically the Jozani Forest Reserve, located within Chwaka Bay National Park.
Under the guidance of a professional, you will spend some time in the jungle, one of the last remaining rainforests in East Africa. The air is humid, and the area is swampy, with a rich diversity of flora and fauna and lush vegetation.
Jozani Forest is home to two species of monkeys: the Red Colobus Monkey, which can only be found on Zanzibar, and the Blue Monkeys. These remarkable monkeys are accustomed to humans, so you’ll have the chance to see them up close as they descend from the trees and show off their charming features. However, remember they are wild animals, so be cautious.
A leisurely walk through the lush, exotic vegetation, listening to the sounds of cicadas and birds, will lead you to the second part of the park: a stunning, evergreen mangrove forest with above-ground roots. During low tide, the mangrove roots are exposed, and the forest teems with life, home to countless crabs that you’ll be able to see up close. The contact with nature at Jozani Forest will have a positive impact on your well-being.
After leaving the forest, you will enjoy a traditional African dance performance accompanied by singing and drumming. You will feel the rhythm of Africa! With these sounds, your feet will naturally want to dance, and your body will release stress and tension. Fully relaxed, you will continue your journey to lunch.
Next, you’ll travel to a small local village, where you’ll experience daily life and meet open, friendly, and joyful people. Then, you will visit a school, where you’ll learn about the education system on Zanzibar. Both the village visit and the school visit will be an emotional experience for you.
To conclude your tour, we will take you to two breathtaking oceanfront spots that offer postcard-like views. The first is Mtende Beach, a beautiful location formed by natural rock formations in a large bay. It’s undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on Zanzibar, perfect for a walk and relaxation.
The second is The Rock restaurant, a small house on a rock, surrounded by turquoise waters. During low tide, you can walk to the restaurant, but at high tide, you'll need a boat to get there. The restaurant offers delicious desserts, fish, and seafood dishes. If you're interested in dining, please make a reservation in advance. You can make it yourself, or we can do it for you. Just let us know! Hakuna Matata.
The planned return to the hotel is around 4:00 PM.
